Windows 11 23H2 Home and Pro reach end of support in 30 days

![Windows 11](https://www.bleepstatic.com/content/hl-images/2025/09/22/Windows-11.jpg)Microsoft has reminded customers again today that systems running Home and Pro editions of Windows 11 23H2 will stop receiving security updates next month. This follows two other alerts in which the company asked users to upgrade their systems to the latest available Windows 11 release, the first [in August](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-11-23h2-home-and-pro-reach-end-of-support-in-november/) and the second [in September](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-11-23h2-home-and-pro-reach-end-of-support-in-60-days/).However, as Redmond [explains](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-23h2) on the Windows release health dashboard, Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 11 23H2 will remain under mainstream support until November 2026.’On November 11, 2025, Windows 11, version 23H2 (Home and Pro editions) will reach end of servicing. The November 2025 monthly security update will be the last update available for these editions,’ the company [warned](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/windows-message-center#3688) today.’After this date, devices running these editions will no longer receive monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.’Users are advised to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 (also known as the Windows 11 2024 Update), which [became generally available](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-11-24h2-now-rolling-out-here-are-the-new-features/) in October 2024, [after an initial rollout](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-releases-windows-11-23h2-as-an-enablement-package/) to Windows Insider enterprise customers in May 2024.Devices running Windows 11 22H2/23H2 Home and Pro not managed by IT departments will receive the Windows 11 24H2 update automatically, but they’ll still be able to postpone the update or choose the time to restart. However, it’s important to note that some PCs might not get upgraded because Microsoft has added a Windows 11 24H2 safeguard hold for devices with [SenseShield Technology code-obfuscation drivers](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/windows-11-24h2-blocked-on-pcs-with-code-obfuscation-driver-bsods/).In July, Microsoft [reminded users](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/microsoft-will-stop-supporting-windows-11-22h2-in-october/) that support for the last Windows 11 22H2 editions will also end next week, on October 14.Windows 11 users who want to update their PCs to the latest available version can install the Windows 11 2025 Update to upgrade to Windows 11 25H2, which was [released on September 10](https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-11-2025-update-25h2-is-now-available-heres-whats-new/) and is [now available](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/status-windows-11-25h2#:~:text=Starting%20today%2C%20version%2025H2%20is%20available%20on%20eligible%20Windows%2011%2C%20version%2024H2%20devices%20for%20users%20who%20have%20turned%20on%20the%20setting%20Get%20the%20latest%20updates%20as%20soon%20as%20they%E2%80%99re%20available) to all eligible Windows 11 24H2 devices if they have enabled the ‘Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available’ setting. You can find more details about Windows 11 servicing dates using the [Lifecycle Policy search tool](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/?terms=windows) or on the [Windows Lifecycle FAQ page](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/faq/windows#what-is-the-servicing-timeline-for-a-version–feature-update–of-windows-11-).
